School starts back up in a few days. The hottest accessory this year is not going to be a pair of jeans or something like that, it’s going to be the iPhone 3G. A lot has happened since school let out a couple months ago for most and a few months ago for some. The iPhone 3G came out!
I bet if you walk into any high school or college/university you are going to see tons of iPhones. How come? It’s the hottest gadget in Canada right now. Rogers has said that the amount of iPhone sales are well into the six figures even though they won’t give specifics. I would definitely say that the majority of iPhone owners are under 30.
One very important thing to remember is to keep your iPhone 3G safe at school. Keep it in your pocket or purse. Don’t leave it unattended in a backpack or unlocked locker somewhere. The thieves will be looking out for iPhones to steal because of their high resale value. There is nothing worse than having something stolen. Especially your iPhone 3G. I remember someone stole my walkman when I was in school. I was playing basketball after school and left it in my backpack at the end of the gym. Someone must have seen me have it or put it in my bag and then watched until I wasn’t looking and went it my bag and took it. That was devastating. If someone steals your iPhone 3G, it will be pretty expensive to replace at around $700 from Rogers.
It will be fun to show off your iPhone 3G however at school. If you had an iPhone at school last year, you were probably in an exclusive club. Now, not as much, but you still can expect some oooh’s and aaaah’s. Only let your close friends touch it and make sure they be careful. What happens if your friend drops your iPhone? I would be pretty upset.
Make sure you do take advantage of the functions during class. This includes texting, emailing photos, games, and the notes app. I’m not saying you should cheat on your tests, but the iPhone can do a lot to help with studying and learning. Or you can do as I did, play games during class. At least it is better than sleeping. Take advantage of all of the iPhone 3G’s functions to help you throughout the school year whether it be for actual learning or the social aspect of school.

Yeah, thx for the reminder. I’m so glad school is opening, not. Oh well, aleast I have my iPhone 3G with me this year. (If it wasn’t for the iPhone 3G, I’d hate life for sure.) I’ll make sure no one steals my JesusPhone.

It sounds nice that teenagers will be buying iPhones like crazy, but isn’t the monthly carrier fee sort of steep for people in this economy. It’s already been rumored that Mac back-to-school computer sales won’t be all that good, so what makes you think that iPhones will be selling in huge quantities.
And there is the problem of getting your iPhone stolen, whether from a locker during gym class or just a ordinary punch and snatch. I wouldn’t think many schools would allow them to be used.

Schools, like everything else, will have to cope with technology advancements. That being said, it is the teens and post-secondary students who really do all the spending in this economy of ours. Think about it - they have virtually no bills to pay, maybe their own cell phone bills and that’s it. More and more teens are in the work force so where else would that money be going?
It’s no secret that our economy is aimed towards the 16-25 year old demographics. But the fact that I am defending teens/young adults paying $75+ a month is ridiculous!

Rogers users are lucky to get the 1000 LD for $5, I think it’s $10 on Fido.
