It’s happening again. When I got my first gen iPhone, I couldn’t decide if I wanted a case or not. Then I decided to get a few cases and try them out. It seems the same thing is going to happen with my iPhone 3G.
Here’s my review of the Contour Flick case for the iPhone 3G:

Well, after half a day with this case on, I’ve decided that I don’t really like it. It doesn’t add a lot of bulk to your iPhone, but it adds enough to the point where I can’t live with it. The price is on the high side at $35 but it will probably protect you in case you do drop your iPhone. Having a damaged $35 case is better than having a damaged $300 iPhone. The reason this case caught my attention was that it looked a lot like the Incase Slider for the first gen iPhone. I did like that case a bit, too bad they haven’t made one yet for the 3G. my recommendation is that you get this only if you really want a case. I haven’t seen any similar cases like it. I haven’t tried any other cases yet, but out of what’s available, this is the best I’ve seen. I’m not really a fan of silicone cases and I’m still waiting for my invisibleSHIELD.

August 2nd, 2008 at 12:08 pmI’ve had this case for two weeks. While I like it overall, it has a few flaws. First, the silicone that makes up the “flick” mechanism is already yellowing (no, I don’t leave my iPhone in the sun). Next, the case is already showing signs of scratching although the only hard surface it comes into contact with is my desk (when I gently place it there). Lastly, while the case is low profile and maintains the lines of the iPhone, I don’t think it would protect the phone much in a fall higher than 6 inches on anything other than carpet.
