I have been a fan of invisibleSHIELD for quite some time now. When I installed invisibleSHIELD (IS) on my iPhone I had some problems. Since then, IS has been redesigned. I haven’t got a replacement from them yet. However, I did decide to try out one of their competitors. It is called BestSkinsEver or BSE for short.
The major selling point behind BSE is the fact that it is so cheap. It’s only $7.99 for the full front and back version and only $5.99 for the back only version. I only ordered the back version because I use the Power Support Anti-Glare film set for the front.
After ordering the BSE, shipping was quick. I received it about a week later. The shipping was also free because I had ordered 3 pieces. Otherwise it is like only 2 bucks. Very reasonable if you ask me.
There are a few downsides to BSE. There is a reason that BSE is so much cheaper compared to IS. IS comes with application spray and a squeegee to work out the excess solution and bubbles from the film. IS also comes in nice packaging and has the instructions printed inside. BSE comes in a normal envelope and gives you a web address for the installation instructions. With BSE being $8 and IS being $25, the downsides to BSE aren’t really that bad after all.
I had extra IS application spray so I didn’t have to make my own. But if you don’t have it, you’ll have to make your own application solution for BSE. This is done by mixing water and dish soap. You can put it in a spray bottle which would make things easier or else you will have to sprinkle or dip the BSE into the solution. Everyone has water and dish soap so that isn’t really a big deal to me. Now for a squeegee a credit card works as good if not better than the squeegee. Everyone has a credit card.
I have to recommend BSE because of the price and the quality of the product. With the cost only being 8 bucks, you can order more than once so you can easily replace it a few months down the road or if necessary, you have a back up if you mess up the first time on installation. I still recommend IS because of the fact that they have redesigned it, and the convenience factor with all the accessories it comes with has got to be worth something.

August 30th, 2008 at 2:29 pmive got the BSE and quite happy with it.
Sure the installation took about 30 mins for me (front and back) but thats coz im very particular about perfecting the application.tips:
1-get the single piece back (not the two piece) otherwise the join marks ruin the look
2-i had a paperclip mark (deep scratch) on the front piece, which dissapeared in 48hrs of application.
3-i told BSE and they were glad to send me a replacement front for free..what great service.
4-i am literally so much more relaxed about my iphone 3g now
5-i’ll probably replace this in 3-6months if it needs it, but at $8bucks, you cant go wrong.highly recommended! looks fantastic and the touch screen is more responsive (IMO)
