Canadians aren’t the only ones getting the short end of the stick, just look at Denmark, there is a big revolution on the internet happening there as well regarding their iPhone plans. Danish carrier Telia just relased there iPhone plans and I must say they are terrible, even worse than ours, much worse actually.
Here’s what they are getting:
Price - 599 DKK or about $128 Canadian
Minutes - 300
Data - 300mb
That is the only plan available. There are no other options. If you go over those it’s about 26 cents per MB and 21 cents per minute. You pay the $128 per month for the first 6 months and then it goes down to $85. It can’t tell if there is a contract involved or not.
The price of the iPhone in Denmark is 1399 DKK for the 8gb model and 1999 DKK for the 16gb model. That works out $299 and $427 in Canadian dollars.
You can read more about it on Danish iPhone site - iPhoneguide.dk. Here is the link the the Google Translated version of the site.

This article has the flavor of support for Rogers and their unreasonable rates. Whose side is iphoneuser.ca on anyway?

you have to do a fair comparison. it’s stupid to compare two different plans one for 6 months! and the other for 3 years!!! although the price of their 6 months plans are still comparable to the ones from rogers. so again I can say Fuck you Rogers!!!

Ya but we have to sign up to a 3 year contract. But still that plan is gross.

Guys its just a comparison to show you were not the only ones getting screwed over.
Granted 6 months is not much compared to 3 years. But $128 for 300 mins and 300 mb is laughable.

im interested to see what Vodafone New Zealand has to offer as they have the same sort of monopoly as Canada. (Only 2 companies there, 1x GSM and 1x CDMA).

I just tried to get back online to “ruinediphone.com” only to find that Rogers has denied access to the site!!!!!!!
Who the hell do these people think they are??????
I will definietly NOT get another product from Rogers AND anyone who reads this needs tho think hard before buying a service from a company known to charge the highest rates in the world AND has the audacity to cut you off from protesting!!
This should be illegal!! Is this a third world country?? I

John,
They might have exceeded their bandwidth, my ISP is Shaw and I can’t get it. Rogers could have had something to do with it though, LOL.

Rogers still is the MONOPOLY in our market, offring poor plans and more expensive than our neighbor.
I was planning to have one, but after seeing Rogers’ iphone plan, I AM NOT TO BUY THIS and others products from ROGERS.

Telia just announced it has caved to public pressure and will offer the iPhone with unlimited data.

Nice,
I doubt Rogers will do the same though
